Stress ECG ("Ergometry", "stress test")
In a stress ECG, cardiac electrical activity is first examined at rest, then at a precisely defined increasing load on a stationary bicycle ergometer.
This study shows the behavior of heart rate, heart rhythm and blood pressure during and after exercise. Evidence of cardiovascular disease can also be obtained from the ECG waveforms. Thus, further diagnostic and therapeutic steps can be discussed directly after the examination with the patient.
