Ultrasound of the brain-supplying vessels outside the skull ("duplex sonography")
On the one hand, this ultrasound serves to detect relevant narrowing of the brain-supplying vessels outside the skull, and on the other hand also to assess the personal risk profile for cardiovascular diseases.
For this purpose, different vessel sections are examined painlessly with an ultrasound probe and images are recorded. Depending on the findings, a medical treatment, if necessary also a treatment of a relevant bottleneck by inserting a placeholder ("stent") or an operative procedure may be required. For this, the mediation must be made to a suitable hospital.
